If you are not able to access MS Outlook .ost files and getting error “OST is in use and cannot be accessed” while trying to access them. Then I would like to share with you an advanced third party Recoveryfix for OST to PST convert. This is an advanced solution to fix .ost files and make them accessible.

If you are unable to resolve it using manual method, use third party OST to PST tool. You can resolve any issues regarding the OST file by Choosing a relevant third party OST to PST software which can preserve email properties, formatting and hierarchy during entire recovery process.

"Offline Outlook OST is in use and cannot be accessed" This error is displayed when the program is running in the background. In order to prevent it end programs from running in the background that is using the OST file. You can end the running programs  by following below mentioned methods.

  • Open Task Manager
  • Click the Processes tab
  • Check out running programs related with Outlook
  • Select the desired Outlook process, and then click the End task button.
